Trying to match St Croix SC II action.

Hi. I''m trying to match the action on an older SCII (apx. 8 or 9 yrs.) fly blank that was built into an 8' spinning rod. The model # is GF 8056 as far as I can tell ( had to remove the rear grip to uncover the label). If I have to I'll use the 2F805 SCII but the customer would like the new blank to be black( the SCII is brown). I'm looking for a mod. action, 8' 5w in black. So far i'm leaning toward the Hook & Hackle IM6 Mod. # HBB805B. Does anybody know how these 2 blanks compare? If not can anybody recommend a blank? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Chris

Chris,
Why don't you measure the Action Angle and Power of your blank using the Common Sense System and then look for a close match on the CCS Data Site on the left? The measurements are easy to make and I will bet that you will be able to find a close match.

I found some of the 2003 Forecasts to be very similar to SCII actions; might be a good place to start looking at CC data.

Emory, that was my 1st thought, unfortunately there is a 1' section busted out of the rod apx. 1 1/2' from the butt end. That is why the gentleman would like a new one. Thank you!

OK, now I understand. It looks like you have a bigger problem than I thought. Do you have a piece of fiber glass or graphite that you can put temporary patch it with? I know that is a pretty big patch and will affect the results that you get but it should still get you in the ball park. Maybe someone else is familiar with the older rod and can give you more help than I can, sorry.

I have cast the Imperial 8' 5wt. 2pc. but it was pre-CCS so I never got to test it. Then, I built a PacBay Tradition TRF805 (2pc.) and from my recollection if felt very similar. The TRF805 I built had an ERN of 4.60 and an AA of 62. So, not as scientific as you'd hope but in a round-about way maybe this will help get you in the ballpark.
