I recently started using ncp thread and no cp on my guide wraps and have been quite satisfied, however once in a while I am getting small pinholes in my windings;they look like bubbles that have burst late in the curing stage. Can anything be done to prevent this from happening? I'd appreciate any help from the experts. Thanks Gene Re: pinholes in wrap epoxy

You can put a thin coat of CP on the thread, if just to replace the air in the thread. Even thinning out the first coat of clear will give it a longer set time and the air will have time to break open Re: pinholes in wrap epoxy

Consider the temperature your curing at. Is it closer to 60 deg F than 70 deg F. To low a cure temperature can cause this too. Joe Kassuba His Rod Shop Joe Kassuba Re: pinholes in wrap epoxy

Cooler is better. not freezing, I have used permagloss on thread wraps it is thin but because it sets fast it held bubbles, this is without CP.Thin or thined out clear " flex coat " does it on there first coat of epoxy, will release bubbles easyer. Think about it , bubbles will release easyer from water then it will from honey?
