I read somewhere lately that the author preferred Titebond III to Devcon expoy for making cork handles.

Any feedback?

What is the set up time?

How much clamping pressure?

Is it waterproof?

Bill

It is waterproof and does not take that much time to setup. Mostly I let my handles setup overnight anyway. I use enough pressure so I can make sure glue presses out of all the joints. I was once told to compress the cork about 1/8 of an inch when clamping them. If the handle is going to be 7" long, when clamped, you should measure 6-7/8" between the clamps.

I started using the titebond III about a month ago as I was tired of the mess that other adhesives make.
Titebond isnt at all messy and even if you do spill some its a quick and easy cleanup.

I normally will glue up the rings on the mandrel clamp them tight and then slide the mandrel out. Set it aside and get another set of rings ready........... Within a couple of hours it has setup well enough to be taken out of the clamp. With other adhesives I would never think of taking the clamp off until the next morning at the earliest.
So not only does the Titebond III work well but it is a time saver also!
