what feathers to use

I am looking to do a feather inlay on the split portion of the rear handle on a rod. The thread colors are black, white, greys and silver metalic. Was wondering what would be a good feather/s to use that would match these colors. Right now allI have is a pheasant skin but would like to use something else.

Guinea plumeage tip sections (dark gray w/ white spots) as a base layer, with an overlay of a Jungle cock nail would fit your color combo.

Grizzly hackle would also look good.

I would use a Vulturine G with a Grey Jungle fowl secondary feather as a base. A nice Kingfisher enlay with a jungle cock nail would complete a nice enlay

Just a thought and good lick... want to see a pic when you are done..
