Randy- I'm trying to come up with a marbling scheme that would compliment a rod with holographic guides and reel seat-Any suggestions? Thanks!

I really like purple and gold with this scheme; I've done a couple of them and they look really good; if purple isn't in the cards, blue is a good second choice!

Testor's metallic model paint. Make sure you pour off the solvent! Their metallics are great

I guess that I've switched to gold and silver in the Metal Leaf colors; still have to pour off the solvent; Testor's is really good, too, though. Got the gold at WalMart in the craft section and ran across more colors (silver, brass, and one different gold - antique??) at a hardware store.

Goofed here; should have said "Liquid Leaf" not Metal Leaf. SAT.

I have a film/DVD maker coming in on Saturday to do the first filming on a DVD on marbling. I'll include all known pigments, etc. on the finished product; hopefully I'll have the finished master in my hands in May.

One more question- Is your base color black with the purple and gold swirled in? Thanks!

I do the base of purple, swirl white and add gold as really thin highlights. The base can be white and the purple swirled in, too.

Anybody ever swirled in some silver or gold on a regular wrap? Been thinking of doing this for a while now.

You could try this one for the hologram guide with a purple marble, too:
