Al I don't know what kind of reasonable distance your talking about,But Rod-blanks.com is in Kent thats a litte southeast of Seattle,And Anglers work shop is clear down on the columbia river in Woodland.But you can mail order from this places also hope this helps.

Greg's Custom Rods is in Lake Stevens which is just east of Everett, about an hour and a half south of the border.
