I ordered mine direct from a tackle shop in Japan owned by Akihito Suziki. Also got some of the Aluminum rings not available here, some T-LDBSG #6 guides (new this month), and a couple of Japanese Shimano Ocea Jigger reels (1500P & a 2000P NR) - all not available here.

I was told by Merrick that everything in their catalogue can be ordered through SummerMoon, link to the left. I don't have a wholesale license so can't order through Merrick. The reel seats they are showing are the same ones that Matsugi has in Japan, wonder if they did some sort of a deal.

Those Jigger's are nice, I have one I bought in Japan. (1500). I caught a 40lb mahi on 15 lb test first time I used it. Love it. Esentially same as a Trinidad only without the clicker and has the switch to lock the drag.

Custom Tackle may also have them, I know they had the new Fuji Ti spinning guides as soon as they were available. The seats are in the new Fuji catalog I recieved at the NW Rodbuilders get together so I guess just about anyone can get them. The green reelseats from Forecast will be here in a month or so according to the Batson clan.

They have some great stuff in Japan. It all seems a bit pricey, but that may be because I can't tell what I'm looking at. I would love to order some things from Japan. How was it doing business with Mr. Suzuki? Were you able to communicate clearly with each other?

Sean - no problems with him, he speaks very good English (especially good when you consider how poor my Japanese is, lol). Payment is a problem, Wire Xfer is a $25 fee on teh Japan side, $40 from Chase, but a Bank check can be sent for a few bucks in Yen, from Citibank - but you need an account there.

I already have one OJ 1500P, I picked one up for a friend, and got myself the 2000P Narrow (TN16). They usually have better internals in tehJapanese reels, they dumb the reels down once they bring them out for the US market. THere are some AMAZING Diawa FW Baitcasters, quite expensive though, but everythign is.

Check the Xchange rates, right now it's .0092 Yen to USD. A couple of years ago when I orderd it was .0085-ish, possibly lower at one point.
