I am looking into building a 9'6'' fly rod for my cousin. Most Likely between a 4 and 6 weight. So my question is, which is lighter, Fenwick or St. Croix?? I am going to use a kit to build this rod Re: Fenwick vs. St.Croix??????

The Fenwick company that was once popular among rod builders has not made or sold blanks in some years. I did see some new Fenwick fly rods in the Cabelas catalog and assume they are made by the same people who make the rods for Berkley. I would choose the St. Croix over the Fenwick in a second. I would also recommend sticking with a domestic manufacturer. Fenwick has not been built in the US since the mid to late 80's. Todd Re: Fenwick vs. St.Croix??????

The new Fenwick is not your father's Fenwick. Go with the St Croix. Re: Fenwick vs. St.Croix??????

My husband has a Fenwick glass rod that's over 30 years old. The tip broke while landing a fish. It's 71/2 " M392600 glass rod. Have any idea what the cost would be to have fixed? Thank You. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
