Need American Tackle blank specs

I've got an American Tackle 701 blank. I'm sure it was listed as either a casting or spinning blank. It's a 7' blank with a gloss finish. The only other number I have on it is AM147. That may have been the stock number for it though. It seems that American Tackle has changed their blank listings for 2005 so I can't find the specs on it. It didn't come with a label that had all the specs. (length - line wt - lure wt - action)

If anyone knows or has this information would you please send it to me?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Is it a 701L, M, H or M701? It should have a gold silk screen on the butt of the blank with the logo and specs.

Warmest Regards, Joe Meehan, ATC

Steve -
I can't help it I'm a "pack rat"... Information from old circular:
Blank butt diameter tip "action" line wt lure wt

"original IM6 blanks"

701L .440 6 Lt 8-12 1/2 - 1 1/2
701M .453 7 Med 14-18 1 - 2 oz
701H .525 7 Hvy 18-25 1 - 2 1/2 oz

"new IM6 blanks"

701HFT .525 7 Hvy/Fast tip 18-25 1 - 2 1/2 oz
M701 .600 8 Extra heavy 20-30 1 - 3 oz

The 701L makes up into a really fantastic crappie rod. The 701M is good for working
medium sized schoolie striped bass and the 701H / 701HFT are good for working
bass from weeds and such -- if you want to play with them. The M701 is really
a "big bass heavy cover workhorse" with the emphasis on "horse"

I'm thinking it's the 701L.

Steve
You ought to be able to tell the 701L - it's a "buggy whip" rod. The others are quite a bit stiffer. They're all seven foot - one piece
rods. Since its already made up I'd guess your best bet would be the tip diameter & lure wt to deflect the rod.

Steve, I love those ATC blanks. To get to the heart of the matter, maybe measure the blank as close to the tip as possible. I still have at least one of all those in stock, will be glad to go measure if you give me the data and let you know.... Tell be what your measurement is and how far down the tip you took the data, I'll do the same then let you know...
