I have been thinking of trying the REC Recoil guides on a bass rod. I heard great things about them when they first came out, but was wondering if anyone had any negitive things to say about them? I am currently using SIC guides from Sevier Mfg. and have been pretty happy with them. Guess I'm always looking for something new of better. Everything I saw on them when they got popular was good, but now that they have been on some rods for a while is there anything that I should know about before I try them out?
thanks for any imput you might have on them. Brent. Re: recoil guides

I would stay with the SIC on a bass rod. Better performance for casting. I have not used them myself but from what I read here they are mainly for lightweight on fly rods. Correct me if I am wrong guys? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/05/2005 07:30AM by bill boettcher. Re: recoil guides

There are some double loop REC spinning and casting guides, but except as strippers on ultralite flyrods where the extra weight is a factor, I would stay with ceramics. Slicker. Re: recoil guides

I just got the new Cabelas's catalog, and it appears they're outfitting their high-end XML Ti spinning and casting rods, including rods that are certainly intended for bass, with REC recoils. Maybe someone can give some feedback on one of them. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
