Putting on thin coats. How many coats should I apply? Re: U 40 High Build

Fred,
You have asked a very subjective question, so rod builders may hesitate to respond. I would suggest wrapping a guide and maybe a flat wrap on a spare blank section, then begin applying thin coats until you reach the level of epoxy that you find desirable. Jeff Shafer Re: U 40 High Build

Jeff is right as it will depend on your application and your desired effect. With U 40 high build I can normally get by with one application on a fly rod or light spinning rod. Two will definate give me all build up I find necessary. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: U 40 High Build

Fred--ditto both Jeff and Stan! Applying finish becomes an intensely personal process/approach. But you can certainly get wonderful results with just one coat of LS high build. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
