Roller Guides

This is my first rod with roller guides. Do the rollers go toward the reel or toward the tip? I know its probably a dumb question but I would rather look like a dummy here than a dummy to the guy Im building it for. Re: Roller Guides

If you can read the name when looking from the reel position toward the tip then you are OK . Simplest way I can think of to explain it. Re: Roller Guides

Different guides have the rollers on different sides of the frame anyway. Even those manufactured by a single company can have a model with the rollers on one side and another model with the rollers on the other side (Aftco HD vs. SHD for instance). Normally there is a more vertical side and a more slanted side to the guide frame. The more vertical side usually goes toward the tip and the slanted side faces the butt.
