A long time ago I bought some Minwax Spar Urethane. Opened the can . Did like the color. Never used it???
Just got some more to try again.
Nice stuff!! Gives cork a nice sealing and gold tone to it. Coated a blank with it. I like it. Have not tried to take it off yet to see how it adheres to the blank?
Live and learn???

Yep, used auto clear on blanks for a long time, but had a few problems with reactions to different paints (sometimes it would not adhere), but now use the Spar Urethane and have not had a problem since.

The only draw back, if you want to call it that, is the curing time.

Bill......You?.....a Dummy?.....I think not.....Your rods make mine look like used Q-tips in comparison. I could not sell my recent attempts to a blind man because he could read the guide wraps like braille. That is why I am not posting pictures yet, too embarassing. I am very new to this sort of thing, and people like you, Doc, and Putter, whoops almost forgot Billy V. and others have been a HUGE help.

Life is a constant battle to learn. You just learned something new, that's all.

Wait until you get an airbrush and start airbrushing your varnish finish coats on.....HEH HEH!

Derek

Thank you for the kind words Derek. Putting me in the same class like Billy V, Putter and Doc makes me fell good. I am always amazed when I go to the photos and look at there work. Heck I have not tried marbelizing yet. Have to have Putter give me some lessons
Just take your time when doing yours. Try not to worry about how they come out, seems the more I worry, the worse they come out. Now I just say the heck with it, and they come out great
