I have a set of nickel silver rings from an old Cortland? fly reel seat. They are very discolored, almost like old brass. These rings came from the first flyrod I ever built for myself. My question: how do I get them shiny again without using anything abrasive? Thank you. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again. Re: Cleaning Nickel Silver

Go to Wal Mart auto department and buy Mother's Mag Polish. I use it to polish the valves and valve casings in my trumpet and flugelhorn, so I can tell you it isn't abrasive. Great stuff. Re: Cleaning Nickel Silver

Try Never-Dull wadding polish. Stuff works great Re: Cleaning Nickel Silver

I have a cloth called the "Classic Cloth" that I bought from a motorcycle shop. I've used it on every kind of metal imaginable, including nickle-silver reel seat rings. I can't begin to tell you how great it works. Its not abrasive at all - it almost feels oily. I'd put this product up against anything else out there. Good Luck. Re: Cleaning Nickel Silver
