when using cork tape i finish the ends with thread and then epoxy, and before i wrap them i tape them down. what is the best way to secure the butt end of the cork tape which will then be covered by a rubber butt cap? should i wrap that end as well or can i leave in taped and just cover the tape w/rod bond?

thank you

josh

No need to make a project out of this..............Just wrap the end with electrical tape and slide the butt cap on.

At least thats what most guys I know do...

.
i use double face tape from a golf shop $6.00 per roll.i go left with the double face tape and right cork tape. it hold the cork tape better to the blank. the glue on the tape is not that sticky.

you can use crazy glue the end's down with it. then thread and epoxy it.!!!!!!!

I have always been fortionate enough to have a cap that fit tightly and let that hold the tape on.Havent had a failure yet.

Tape is great and shring tube works good too. I usually put a turks head at the forgrip end and one just above the buttcapp just to make it nautical.
