I just removed guides with an underwrap from a blank, going to put some new guides on it. What is the best way to clean the blank without damaging it? There seems to be some epoxy which may have soaked through the underwrap on the blank.
Thanks, Sean Re: stripped blank clean up

Sean , try some gentle heat and a plastic knife , if you feel brave ,a razor .
Do not use any harsh chemicals , they will take whatever finish is left off the blank . Be careful not to cut into the blank . Try a heat gun , or hair drier set in high to soften the epoxy . Have Fun , JHD Got Fish ? Re: stripped blank clean up

A hair dryer, definitely. A heat gun can give you too much heat ,too fast. One of the cheap plastic putty knives, a narrow one works well. If you know how to put the edge on a scraper (steel) put a similar edge on the side of the plastic scraper and it is almost perfect for this job. I do a lot of repairs, and this makes them go a great deal easier. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
