Made for plastics it says.. After my experiments with pigments and finishs etc, i gave this stuff a try as i could not find the right color in auto touch up paint. It drys really fast and i got a nice finish with it. What i was wondering is what to put over it? Permagloss would be too hot of a finish i think. I was thinking a urathane varnish, gudebrod rod varnish maybe. Any ideas guys? Thanks John Re: Krylon Fusion spray paint

There was some one where the plasti-kote auto colors could be ordered online. I am trying to find the number again, calling the company? Re: Krylon Fusion spray paint

I've used Fusion on radio controlled boats and it works well on the right plastics. They have to be plastics that the paint will adhere to like ABS, Styrene etc. There is a solvent in the paint that "bites" into the surface fusing it to the surface. It works really well, but one warning, on the radio control forums, I read of many instances where top-coating fusion resulted in orange peeling of the paint, even when using the recommended top-coat. So make sure you test it thoroughly on a scrap before trying on the rod.

If you don't top coat withing 4-6 hours ( I believe it is ), you have to wait 5-6 days for it to cure out good or it will orange peel or crinkle. Bill in WV Re: Krylon Fusion spray paint

Sprayed 1/2 dozen rods with Fusion gloss black, to date all finishes look great, never used any top coat, The last rod I sprayed I used a top coat of clear epoxy spray ( from Summermoon Rods), the epoxy did not enhance the finish, and I will have to wait and see if the finish holds up better than the non top coat finishes.
