If you know somebody in the bodyshop business that has there own paint mixing room the pigment supply is endless. The small amount that you will need is usually spilled on the bench every day. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Where to buy pigments?

Go to any store that sells paint (bring your own small container) and talk them into a little of the pigment they add to mix there paints

No offense to anybody above.
You should expect a pure pigment is in a powder. If you are getting in a liquid form, it is in a "medium", maybe water, "oil" or other medium with additives applied such as brigtheners and fillers. Colours (sorry, I use the "u", as I am Canadian) in a shop are often a combination of pigments. Without going further in the science and structure. I note .... Pigment biggest consumer is the automative industry. Cosmetic industry applies a substantial touch to generation of pigment. The consumer can get pigments from well-stocked fine art stores. If you do not like Rochester's Fine Art Store (which is a fine store), [www.fineartstore.com] on left is a pigment link then try Daniel Smith [www.danielsmith.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
