I needed that Bill Stevens

Thanks for the good laugh, Bill. I also get a lot of funny looks when I go to fabric shops, hobby shops such as Michaels and ask where the doll eyes and rug yarn are located. I tie flies and am always looking for something I can use in "Hobby #2." The craft section of Wally World is another place that I spend a lot of time searching for bargins. Example: I tie a lot of Clousers and recently I found a three foot chain of gold beads like the ones used in the pull strings on light fixtures for 99 cents. I also found some beautiful spools of rayon thread in 40 weight that I am going to try in some weave patterns. It used to bother me to have to take my wife on her weekly trek to WW but now it is a family affair. On a fly fishing site I found directions for making a tying desk for less than $30 using meat cutting boards and dowels. That is another project for the next couple of weeks. On a recent trip to Michaels I bought a long magnetic strip that I can use to put my guides in order while I am wrapping a rod or I can use it for holding my hooks for tying flies. When I go to the check-out counter my voice automatically goes up a few octaves.
Cheers, Ellis

Can you give me a pointer to that site Ellis--I'd like to take a look.

Hi Al,
The name of the site is All-About Fly Fishing. The author of the article says that you can build the desk for under $20 but I think $30 is more like it. E-mail me if you can't locate the site. Cro-magnon man here is not too computer savee. Doc Ski and I are from the same era and everytime there is a forest fire in Kellyfornia, I think he is trying to send me smoke signals.
Cheers, Ellis
