I just completed my 3rd rod, this is a 12' heaver.
I used cork tape on the butt and foregrip (6 foregrip for fighting) I really like the grippy feel of the cork, but am afraid it'll get beat up too quick without any sealer. I do not want something slick... Are there and lite sealer options for this application ? It's about time to put a winters worth of rod building to the test....!!! Thanks .. Ditto what Noel said, Tommy. Wipe it on with your finger and make sure everything is coated. Take a paper towel and wipe off the excess immediately. What has penetrated the cork is all that's needed to do the job.
If you don't like picking the 'silicone-like stuff' off of your fingers, you can put one finger of a latex glove on your pointing finger like I do; this way one glove lasts a long time for me. Cork Seal on Cork Tape? Let it get beat up, replace it at the end of the year. Re: Cork sealer options.... Question...
