Chucks?

Hello again,
I have been putting the stuff together to get a shop built again and I have been looking at these three legged chucks as I have given into making a simple rubber banded job. Would these be strong enough to use for a wrapping machine and would they be self centering? How's the ease of use and dependability? Would they have a threaded shaft and if so would you know the thread pitch and diameter? The part I am mentioning is list at Mudhole as part number PWP9. Thanks for any information you may be able to supply, Tight wraps and lines, Wylie Re: Chucks?

Which "three legged chucks" - there are lots of them out there for sale. In very general terms - if it's good enough for a "real" lathe either wood or metal then it will work for you. Re: Chucks?

I have one of those chucks from mudhole. Has a shaft not threaded. Don't like it. Does not stay tight, unless you really tighten the heck out of it. I also am looking for a chuck. Light, selfcentering, with a shaft to use on a drill. Even a threaded shaft will work. Re: Chucks?

Thanks guys,
Looks like I better use the spare chuck that comes with the Jet lathe for the rod wrapper. Tight wraps and lines, Wylie Re: Chucks?
