Seen his marbled rods, cool....Seen his marbled Pens, cool.......Seen his marbled FISHING REELS, WOW!
If I was a rich man he would be set for life I can tell you! Putter...Is it true that the more caffiene you drink the better you are at marbelizing because your hands shake more when adding the secondary colors? If so you may have some competition....IN ABOUT 20 YEARS. Derek Re: In Awe......Of Putter

You know Derek he is not too bad as a person and a friend. I am in awe of that too as much as his fabulous workmanship. Re: In Awe......Of Putter

I guess he will just have to make his doors bigger, because I need to say he is a very generous guy with his information and willing to help anyone without being asked.

Putter is just a typical Montana country boy that has been exiled to North Dakota for some reason he's never fully explained. The story is that they ran out of PBR in Medicine Lake and quit importing such exotic suds. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: In Awe......Of Putter

But you'll notice he didn't get too far out of Montana, I think he can probably still see it from there if he stand on his roof. Re: In Awe......Of Putter

I couldnt agree more!! I cant say enough about his willingness to share information or about his great craftsmanship!! However, as someone who grew up not too far from Medicine Lake, I tend to think that it may have been a desire to live in a town that gives you a choice of more that one watering hole!! Hence, he moved to the "city". :) Re: In Awe......Of Putter

Well, I have to jump in here. Some months back I sent Putter an email with a relatively simple question about marbeling. I was and am still amazed at his unselfish attitude about sharing his knowledge. He's been a great help and his work is an inspiration. Every time I doing some marbeling I compare it to his work and come up way short. A great individual. I can't figure out when he gets any sleep with a full time job, building rods and now pens and answering all the questions he gets from people everywhere. Re: In Awe......Of Putter

Thanks for the kind words; many people on this board have helped me get my work to the level it's at and sharing, learning and helping are synonymous with rod builders in general.
Seriously, my way better half says if you guys don't knock it off, she's gonna have the phone company pull the plug on me! Putter Re: In Awe......Of Putter

The last time I was in North Dakota, I thought the state tree was a telephone pole LOL! Birds were falling out of the sky everywhere from shear exhaustion LOL!
Keep up the great work Putter! Regards......Doug@ TCRds Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
