Thread reaction to CP

Just put Gudebrod 811 on four test wraps and got a reaction that puzzles me. All four were Gudebrod regular nylon, including Navy (066) in D, Garnet (206) in D, Dark Gray (441) in D and Dark Gray in A. The 441 in D relaxed and actually bubbled up in spots. The others, all done w/ the same thread tension and compacting, seemed fine. I repeated w/ the 441D and got the same bad result. I tested because I've had difficulty w/ 811 in the past and was hoping for no surprises before putting it on a completed butt wrap in the above colors, including the 441D in some spots that would be very vulnerable to the same problem. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you had no problem with the other threads, then the CP would not seem to be the problem. I've never had any "relax" or bubble, so I'm afraid I can't offer any real insight to what might be wrong there.

Tom -- Thanks for responding. I've thought since I posted that "bad" batches of thread might be possible, just as bad batches of finish can get produced from time to time. I've got some much older 441 that I'll test and see where that takes me. Fred Kerr
