Permagloss question

Hello fellow rodbuilders, First off I must thank Tom Kirkman and and the Left List of sponsers for such a
wonderfull resource site. My hat is off to the many talented pros on the board with their hard earned
knowledge they share so generously. And to Doc Ski, Ken Preston and Artie Herbert whose videos and
dvds I watched who make rod building look so easy ,shame on you because now I'm hooked on it. I have
started on my first rod after gathering up supplies and tools for a while. I bought Flex-Coat hi build and
Permagloss finishes for thread wraps and chose to go with the Permagloss on the first rod. Everthing
was going as well as could be expected for a first attempt, I laid down a decal above the fore grip and
sealed with color preserver and it came out great. After two coats of Permagloss I was ready to put the
next coat on and I noticed a sliver of I think its hardned Permagloss stuck to the finish. I waited 24 hours
and then sanded very lightly with 600 grit sandpaper but when I put the next coat on the area I sanded
has the edges lifted in the finish like there was a reaction to the old and new coats. Should I have waited
longer for the finish to cure? Also I forgot to order brush cleaner with the Permagloss and have been
using denatured alcohol maybe thats the problem. Thanks guys and gals sorry for the long post.

I think you'll need to use Xylene to clean those brushes if you don't have the actual U-40 brush cleaner.

You probably waited too long to reapply your finish, but let's ask Ralph or Joe about that. I'm not sure which you wanted to go there.
