Stuck in a rut

It seems the winter here in N.England has kept me in the rod room. to long and not out here checking on new ideas. I noticed that some recent rods were looking like ones I wrapped at the begining of the winter, just a different color. So I'm going to go through the sponsor list, (the whole thing) check out new items, and see where I use some of these new toys and ideas on future rods. Sorta wiping the canvas clean and starting a new painting.

maybe you should consider building a cane rod using classic materials in a classic style.
jeff fultz at platte river rods can set you up with a blank. not as cheap as graphite but you can take all of your skills and make a definate statement with a beautiful cane rod. i'm right in the middle of one riight now. classic silk, classic snake guides, agate stripper. you can buy it unferruled and set the ferruls yourself (not me).

Bill - this was the idea behind Project Rods with teh NERBs. Pick a specific rod, get teh best components, best blank, and do something you've never done before on a rod. Was a good idea, but not enough people made it pan out.

What kind of rods are you building? Cod telephone poles?
