Saltwater type reel seat with tranistion ring.

Are there any other black aluminum saltwater type reel seats that includes the "transition ring" to go against a cork fighting butt other than the Struble U18 and REC's RSLL/RSLS series? A decent full wells inletted grip with either reel seat is going to run close to $60 plus everyone seems to charge another $10 for shipping. I'm just wondering if there a handle/seat combination thats a bit less expensive than a;most $70 but still has the transition ring? Thanks.

I just put a seat together and ran into the same problem. The threads butting up agains the cork fighting butt looked terrible. To fix this I took the included butt cap and drilled a hole in it to feed the rod butt through. I also machined the back of the cap flat to fit up agains the cork nicely. It looks great. This would be difficult without a lathe however. I am going to try the same approach with some spinning seats using some fly seat butt caps that are leftovers (I got them from Dan Craft).
