Hello, Can anyone explain me how I can determine the CC Rating (lure weight min and max) for spinning rods, based on CCS? Thanks very much, Caro Re: CC rating for spining rods question

A quick search turns this up:
Re: CCS lure weight range Posted by: Tom Kirkman (dialup-4.152.54.100.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net) Date: September 23, 2004 08:42AM There is only one deflection needed - a distance equal to one/third the total rod or blank length. *Upper end of weight range (1.5 x number of cents) - 20 = weight in grains *Lower end of range (.8 x number of cents) - 20 = weight in grains To convert grains to ounces, multiply by .0022857 These equations appeared in the Volume 7 #1 RodMaker. I would use the manufacturers weight range rating when possible. When such is not available, the above will get you close to a workable suggested casting lure weight range.
