Hi over there!

Has anyone experience with the ATC Heritage AHF 863, or the SHX Shikäri PF 86-2,
or the Dan Craft FRS III 8022 blanks ?
I am looking for a crisp, 8 - 8 1/2` 2 wt 2-3 pc blank.

Best regards

The GUSA 8' 5-weight blank is one of the best rods with a 2-weight line that I have ever fished. I have no experience with the others.

American Tackle previously offered an 8' 3-weight blank, very fast taper, and it is without question the finest 3-weight rod I've ever owned or fished. To my knowledge they no longer offer it, but you might be able to find one at an American Tackle dealer who has some left over. I really think you'd like it - I've never seen another blank in that line weight range that was so fast and crisp, yet soft enough to handle a #3 line at distances from about 20 to 45 feet.

I built a Dan Craft 8022 8 ft 2pc 2 wt about a year ago and it is a great rod. With a 2 wt line it allows very delicate presentation on small streams. You won't go wrong with any of Dan's blanks.

Balazs: you gotta try the Dan Craft FRSIII8022. Incredible stick. It's become one of my all-time favorite small stream rods. Outstanding crispness married to a full-feel in the casting stroke and unprecidented responsiveness. I think I'm in love! ;)

PLUS, we've got them on sale for the month of March (just haven't advertised it much yet!). Drop by our site at [www.rockymountainrodbuilding.com] and click on "Our Store", then "Blanks" from the menu that appears on the left to navigate your way to this series, or just enter the model number above into the search dialogue and you should go right there!

All the best,

I don't, but it was the only one they listed in their catalog a year ago. If you contact Joe Meehan at American Tackle, he can probably get you the model number. I can't tell you what a fantastic rod this really is.
