I am new to this whole rod building thing but I am impossibly hooked on it now. I'm ordering stuff right and left and have a question about thread.
I have replaced the guides on two rods using NCP 'A' thread but I read that Nylon is stronger. Should I be using nylon on these flipping sticks? THANKS! Re: Thread question - NCP or Nylon

You would be safer to use regular nylon. If you want to keep the color use CP. Color of nylon is also a lot nicer looking when cleared NCP looks kind of flat Re: Thread question - NCP or Nylon

It's been said many times on this board that both NCP and regular threads are more then strong enough to hold the guides, your rod will break first. So it's your choice. Myself, I don't like the flat look of NCP. I use regular nylon, usually without CP applied to it, goes dark and transparent. I like that look, but you can also apply CP to the regular, will not go dark, and will not go flat either. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
