rock cherry fly grip

Hi nedd some help with grip. It's rock cherry very hard wood .What can i use to seal this grip? Thanks Marcel

I would finish it with TruOil if it was mine. I don't think cherry has a lot of resin so it should work fine.

I've not see this done, but I have read that a lot of wood turners leave the cherry on the lathe, turning, and burnish it with a piece of soft pine. Just lightly rubbing it back and forth. Like I said, I've not done it nor seen it done; but I've read about it in several wood working magazines. It supposedly burnishes the cherry, warming it up and drawing the oils to the surface and giving it a rather nice finished look. As far as your type of cherry, I've never heard of it so it may or may not work. It may be something you would like to try.
Some one you could check with is Andy Dear with Lamar real seats, sponser on the left. If anyone would know it would be him.
