Color preserver on metallic thread?

Just finished overwrapping with silver metallic thread......do you need to put color preserver on this? Re: Color preserver on metallic thread?

No, color preserver isn't needed on metallic threads. The color won't change when the epoxy is put over the top of these threads.

Some metallics will go slightly transparent without CP. This is true of some of hte lighter colors of the Sulky metallics, and you will notice it if you look close when you do decorative butt wraps. For guide wraps, I wouldn't worry about it Re: Color preserver on metallic thread?

Yes, I've found this to be true, especially on the pearlescent metallics.

I usually put CP on metallics if for no other reason that it holds the thread tight and keeps the thread from loosening/shifting when I put finish on the wraps.
