9'6" 6 wt 3 pc needed, anyone?

Hi All,

Does anyone make a 9'6" 6 wt 3 pc blank? The only one I've found so far is the rainshadow RX7. I thought there used to be more, but I can't find any.

How about a 4 pc? Sage has the XP I think. Past that I don't know of any.

Thanks,
Rick

John,

That is the same as the RX7. I just got the 9'6" 8 wt from him today. That isn't what my customer is looking for though in this rod. He wants something with a little faster action, lighter tip, more power down low. A little lighter blank overall as well.

CTS was the only other thought I had.

Thanks,
Rick

Dan Craft might be able to cut you something in a Sig IV blank. Winston has the WT 6963. Versitex has the Pac Bay IGF966/3-G.

I sure wish Dan Craft had 9ft6 5 and 6wt blanks in their SIG V series.I like a slightly longer rod for stillwater/lake fishing but find 10ft a bit much(more effort to cast and feels a full line weight heavier than a 9ft blank) for my tastes in a single hander.

Hint,hint,nudge,nudge,Dan.

Rick: If all else fails, and money is no object, there is always Sage. They have a variety of 9'6" 4 piece 6wts.

However, I cringe at paying that much for a blank that I can match for less than half of the price. I agree with Tony: Nudge, nudge, nudge Dan Craft.

Rick: The new Rainshadow RX7+ and RX8+ come in 9'6" SEVEN wt FOUR pc (emphasis added to show I really can read and know this isn't quite what you're looking for!). However, the RX8+967-4 we got as a sample last fall CC'd out to 6.8 or so, which makes it a solid 6wt...and a truly spectacular stick. The RX7+ are a bit cheaper if that's an issue, but the RX8+ is one of the finest perfromance blanks I've ever seen. I don't think Batsons have received their stocking order of these blanks yet but as soon as they do we'll be getting a bunch and would be happy to CC a few of the 967's out for you if you're interested.

All the best,

Hi John,

That would be a ppssibility if they CC'd around 6.8. He wants it for medium streams and bigger trout. He said most casts are in the 30-50' range so a 6.8 would be perfect.

If you get any CC data on them, let me know.

Thanks,
Rick

I will, Rick! We can also lump this in with any Dan Craft blanks on your list and come up with some volume/package pricing for you. I'll keep you posted on an ETA for these blanks and CC them immediately for you.
