loomis glx trim

Does anybody know? Is the little flashy band in the center of the wraps on the glx rods just a wind of krystal flash? Or just silver thread? Do you put this type of wrap on by just overwrapping a couple of wraps on the trim and then wrapping trim over base for a couple of wraps?

I match it using Gudebrod 9050 when adding trim wraps for measurement indicators. It is a one wrap trim.

I am challenged when it comes to eyeballing - how do you use this for measuring? Sounds like I could use a technique for getting exact number of wraps, or something.

On my own rods I do a narrow band of trim at 20" from the rod butt to measure fish. Some of my friends wanted me to add the bands to their GLX rods so I do a black band with the GLX trim insert .

Karen

I outwrap for Loomis and just finished a lot of GLX spin rods. On the GLX witn grey thead the inlay is Gudebrod #9004 and on the GLX rods with black thread they use Gudebrod #9037. It's just a single thread inlay done in the center of the hook keeper wraps and in the center of a 7/8" deoration wrap.
