Just picked up a LamiGLB 108 2MH and need to get the guides for it.
I've only built casting rods but this one is gonna be for spinning. The rod will be used with a van stall reel and lures up to 3 oz only. Was recommended to get Fuji BSVLG guides in 50,40,25,16,12,10,with a 10 tip As I was not lucky enough to go to Charlott I have to learn from somewhere and, I can't think of a better place than this! ;^) Does this sound right (sizes and amount) to you people with more experiance? Any other suggestions are welcome-I'm always open to what other more knowledgables have to say about guides-how many and what types. As this rod is NOT for me I have to get what my friend wants and, He only wants Fuji products. Again, many thanks to all you rod building gurus! Re: guide sizes - right or wrong?!

If your going to use the concept system the stripper only has to be 1/2 the diameter of the reels lip. The reel will tell you which guides to use if you use the primer that's in the library above. The suggestions above look like more of a line of flight setup which will work fine, but will be balance heavier in the tip. Spencer Re: guide sizes - right or wrong?!

Eric,
You will want to keep the added weight of the guides toward the tip as light as possible. Weight is the biggest enemy of performance in a rod particularly at or toward the tip. Even though the GLB 108 is a pretty powerful rod I would drop down to a size 8 tip and use size 8 for the last few guides toward the tip. I would also take the advice that you were given above about the size of the first few guides plus I would use the concept system rather than the cone of flight that it appears that you are using. Eric, I really like the Fuji BMNAG guides on the Surf Rods that I have built. I have a GSB 131 1L with the BSVLG's and a GSB 1201M with the BMNAG's. I really like the look of the BMNAG's plus they are a lighter frame. I used the 40mm as the butt guide.
