About that wx forecast & Charlotte

GOLDENColo. - The U.S. Geological Survey in Colorado has confirmed that the Baltimore area experienced a "seismic event," but there's no immediate word on its intensity.

The USGS said the event was detected around 9:22 a.m. Wednesday. WBAL-TV has received numerous call from residents in Linthicum, Sparrows Point, and as far away as Ellicott City and Columbia.

The agency said it was centered about 13 miles northeast of Annapolis and measured approximately magnitude 2 on Richter scale. Geophysicist John Minsch said his office received a number of calls from people who felt the tremor.

He said the event was so small his agency doesn't have instruments that can better pinpoint the location.

A map on the USGS Web site pinpointed the epicenter of the micro earthquake in the middle of Chesapeake Bay about 9 miles from Rock Hall and 3.1 miles deep.

/// This is literally right out my back door not a "big one" but unusual for sure --- and now they're forecasting snow for tomorrow (2-5") //

Quite a few of us will be around Friday afternoon and early evening. Most all the vendors and their helpers will be in by early evening and many if not most will be staying at the Westin.
