I am building a bass rod in camo (as you can see from my previous posts) and want to do a nice butt wrap in a camo theme. Can anyone suggest either text or (preferred) video of different styles of butt wraps. I currently have done basic diamonds, and would like to expand on this.
Thanks again in advance! Dick Murchison Re: Butt wrap design

Billy,
I would assume that this is unique. What I am looking for is a neat wrap that I can do that will match (thread color) with the new EVA camo grips. Re: Butt wrap design

Doug,
That is way too cool (as my son would say). How do you do that? Can a rookie like me do that? And if so...Can you do the whole rod like that? and What would I need? Thanks, Dick Re: Butt wrap design

Thanks Ken. As I am in the hobby store on a weekly basis, I will get some testors colors to match. As I work my way around this site, I find more and more, this is great!!!
Thanks again, Dick Re: Butt wrap design

Dick, ditto to Mike's article on the Library page, and if your using grips like those in Jim's pictures, you couldn't do any better at matching the colors than that.
Just practice on some scrape until you get the color and pattern your looking for, then go have fun! Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Butt wrap design

They already do!!
I got fabric to make camo curtains for my sons room! It's great to have a log home, as I can bring the outdoors inside. There is alot of wall space for all the mounts! Re: Butt wrap design

OK guys. Here are the Testors colors that I used to marbleize with the Camo Grips. The colors are: 1149 FL Black, 1164 Flat Green (these were in the old standard 1/4 oz. Jars) . Testors Model Master colors 1/2 oz jars: 1764 EURO. DK. GRN, 1706 SAND 33531
Hope this helps. [www.fishingphotos.net] [www.fishingphotos.net] Re: Butt wrap design

I think Jim just said pretty much what I was going to say. Testors has a kit with all 4 camo colors in it. Bill in WV Re: Butt wrap design

William, I hand picked these. I took the grips with to a good hobby shop on a bright sunny day to help with the colors. Re: Butt wrap design

Jim,
Don't doubt your word a bit, pretty good choices. The part about the kit was just an afterthought. I've seen them at some craft stores and WalMart too. Bill in WV Re: Butt wrap design
