Microset problem

I put down a nice thin coat of Flex-Coat high build for a decal. About 24 hours later I went to apply the decal using the directions on the Microset bottle. As I was positioning the decal and brushing the Microset on the decal, I noticed that it was lifting the Flex-Coat. I ended up aborting and the Flex-Coat rubbed off like dry rubber cement. What did I do wrong?

Some decal solutions actually slightly disolve the decal, I dilute my solution 50% with distilled water and eliminated that problem.. Sounds like the mild chemicals in the decal solution reacted with the Flex Cote.

Waiting only 24 hours after a coat of Flex Coat may not have given it enough time to fully cure. I'd wait 2-3 days (the longer the better) before putting on the Microset and decal. The finish should be shiny and hard, not tacky or waxy.
Good luck.
