The get together of the Northwest rod builders at Lamiglas in Woodland in April is coming together really well. It appears that we will have about 100 attendees. The schedule for the demonstrations and presentations is also coming together really well. Here is the list as it stands so far.

1. Rod/Blank Repair.............................................Bob Balcombe
2. Weaving..............................................................Kerry Hansen
3. Static Deflection.................................................Jim Mick
4. Custom Handles...............................................Darvin Geizler
5. Guide wt. and Rod Performance.....................Emory Harry
6. Demystifying the Spine.....................................Christian Brink
7. Optics and Magnifiers.......................................Gary Land (Ophthalmologist)
8. Feather Inlays.....................................................Andy Snedden
9. Finishing & Adhesives......................................Ralph O'Quinn
10. Out Wrapping....................................................Thomas Thornhill
11. American Tackle Products..............................Darrin Heim
12. Batson Enterprises Products.........................Bill Batson
13. Pacific Bay Int. Products..................................Tom Brown

There will also be a seminar for beginning rod builders covering beginning handle assembly, rod set up, wrapping and finishing.

We are also planning to have a fish fry featuring one of the most delicious fish that swims, the Columbia River Spring Salmon. You have never really eaten Salmon if you have not eaten one of the Columbia River Springers. Maybe we can get the luckiest fisherman alive Kerry Batson to come down and catch them.

Thanks for the update Emory. I am counting the days. Looks like a good bunch of presentations. I finally got ot meet Todd at the Flyfishing show in Bellevue. He said that there were a number of soon-to-be rod builders that expressed an interest in attending. Sounds like its going to be a good time. Looking foreward to meeting you and some of the others that are only names on the computer.

It well be great seeing all those old faces again and meeting the new ones who we converse with occasionally over this building site. It looks like there is going to be a full agenda. So take a note pad to take notes and bring lots of questions . Because here you well get the right answers from a builders mouth. To those who have never tasted a springer salmon you are in for a treat. Also if the Cowlitz river co-operates there should be a run of smelt arriving about this time. I am curious those who are coming for the first time What are you looking to see and where are you from. (You can email me (that info). Also for the new people you well have a chance to meet some of the greatest rod and component suppliers in the United States

Ken,
We would love to have you come and if you come we will sure feed you but we would expect a couple of presentations from you.
#1. How to remove the build up of epoxy from dog's tail.
#2. How to remove dog hair from epoxy on rods.
#3. How to remove the build up of epoxy from fingers.
#4. How to remove the build up of epoxy from everything within 6 feet of where you are working.
We know that you must be an expert in all of these areas.
