I'm wanting to paint under my guide wraps white so that the white ncp thread will remain bright. Will this have an effect on the finish adhearing to the blank? I don't wanna be fishing and the guides start popping. I thought about just using a white primer. I think the name of it Kilz or something like that. Re: Paint under the wraps

KILZ is the best there is as a primer. Read the mix --- there are two types of KILZ. One I think is a latex and that could leave you with some problems (fisheyes). Scuff the blank where you'll put the primer -- should work well. Re: Paint under the wraps

I like to use scotch tape around each side of this area before painting. Before the paint is dry and after it starts to set a bit so it won't run, pull the tape off. Don't wait until the paint is hard, it may pull parts of it off... Re: Paint under the wraps
