Epoxy coatings ongoing saga

Well I emailed epoxy coatings the two days ago asking about a sample. They said they no longer have free samples, so looks like we have to buy a quart if we want to try it. Anyone else in the Chicagoland area want to try this stuff? Maybe we can split up a quart of finish between a few people.

Scott,

None of this is really a saga. It's not a new product and they've never given out free samples. In fact, they've never been happy about the idea of having to deal with custom rod builders. Thus, no small kit sizes are offered.

I know that when a company that many aren't familar with suddenly gets some press, it may seem like the product is some sort of miracle. It's not. Anyone who wants to try it could buy a quart from Bingham (their dealer) and then split it up among some buddies as you suggest. In the end, I think most of you will go back to Glass Coat, Flex Coat, LS or one of the other popular finishes.

Tom,
The word Saga was somewhat tounge in cheek, what with all the posts about it lately. I do still want to try it however, so as I mentioned before if anyone wants to split some up let me know .

I understand. I think Bingham just posted that she is going to buy large bottles and split them up in smaller sizes for those wanting to try it.
