Does any one know a source for little tiny reel seat skeletons most suitable for 0- through 2-weight fly rods. Of thinking of something comparable in size to REC slide band series, notwithstanding these REC seats are mortised. I need the barrel insert, non-mortised type. I'm interested in aluminum and/or nickel.
Thanks folks, Josh Markvan www.markvanheirloom.com Re: micro reel seat skeletons

Try Insert by Les to the left. I think he has the hardware for both configurations. Spencer Re: micro reel seat skeletons

Are you talking about a small diameter upscrewing seat? If so, I think Struble makes some small diameter stuff that would be suitable. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for I could make something for you from aluminum.

Just to clarify, I'm thinking of the metal hardware. I can make the actual wood insert most any diameter I need, myself. Mark I think you got it right. I'll try Struble and see how small they go. So far I've only gone through REC and their only micro reel seat hardware is made to be used with mortised inserts, and I don't have the capacity for that yet.

I agree with Spencer on "Inserts from Les" at the left. I've been emailing with him and he says his PacBay A5 formed skeletons for 2-4wt are .2 oz and with a walnut insert runs a total of .5 oz. If I could figure out how to turn an insert from cork, that could be super light! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
