Just a short note to let everyone know the great service I have been getting from Dan Craft.
I recently have been working on one of Dan's 7 piece 5wgts, he sent me a number of seasons ago. While I quickly glued up a handle and reel seat, the blank languished in it's plastic bag for quite some time. Over the Christmas holliday from classes, I wrapped and applied a number of coats of finish (Perma-Gloss). To make a long story short, I flexed the tip, and it snapped clean in half (I think my cat bit the blank). I emailed Dan for advice, hoping he could just fit it with a replacement tip. He emailed me back and offered to send one out for the cost of shipping. Anyway the tip arrived, and bummer, the tip didn't fit. So, I emailed him back, and he requested I send the rod to him so he could find the right tip to fit it. Yesterday, I am happy to say, the package arrived from Dan, with a tip that fits as perfectly well as the original. A little later this evening, I'm going to start wrapping the guides to it to get it ready for spring. The rod was a year or so out of warranty. Although the blank only cost $45.00 if I choose to rebuild it (which I was prepared to do), Dan was nice enough to quickly locate a tip that fit well, helping me to preserve all the work I had completed up to that point. Too often, All we ever read are the complaints when things don't go right. I just wanted to ensure everyone knows that good things do happen, and business such as Dans, do care about their customers and giving good service. And he didn't even dog me about the way I build my rods. I've gotten good service from a number of rod crafting business such as Binghams. However, This is Dan's moment to shine. Thanks, and a tip of the hat to Dan Craft Enterprises. Patrick Vernacchio Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
