Graphite cranckbaits rods

Hello,
Let say first that I'm a glass rod fan, fishing esspecially with cranckbaits and spoons. I'm intrigued about graphite rods used for cranckbaits. Some brands claims (I'm sure they're right) the same feeling with glass rods. And that for a very low weight compared to glass blanks.
But are feelings and feelings... For me, I see a big difference beetween a Fenwick Fenglass and a Daiwa TD-S Glass cranckbait rod or Seeker.
My question is: are cranckin' graphite rods so similar in feel with a glass rod? If are, I'll go from my beloved Fenwick Glass, let say, GLoomis Cranckbait. Unfortunatelly I didn't touch yet a graphite crancking rod, I'm from Europe, and these rods are not available around here. From 10 years I bought all my fishing stuff from states (on-line) and I want to hear your thoughts about my question to decide what I have to do.
Thanks very much, Caro

Caro, I think that you can get a 7' St. Croix SCIV or V crankbait, moderate action, that will deliver the same or better performance as a glass blank, while being smaller in the butt, lighter, and much easier on a 1000 cast day.

I've been told, and have built a couple of rods for crankbaits on "popping" rod blanks, and they seem to work very well for this purpose. Bob Vasko

I'm with Fran. I think the St. Croix crankbait blanks are great for crainkbaiting. they are lighter and have a great action. They may not have the slow recovery speed of glass but they work great.

I also like fiberglass for reaction baits. I have both Gloomis and St.Croix graphite cranking rods and feel that they do not replicate the action of glass. I do not think weight is an issue when most of the fatigue you feel comes from dragging big billed lures, not from rod weight. I would build on glass, it works better and is a fraction of the cost.
