rod blank recomendation

Could anyone suggest a blank for a rod that would be used for pitching 5/16-7/16 oz Eakins jigs (similar to the Falcon Eakin's jig rod). The blank needs to be 7", as light as possible and in the $100 price range. Thanks in advance for your help.

Try one of the new St. Croix's IVC70MHF. These blanks are very impressive for their price. Light wt. and very sensitive. They have a very small profile. They are a Cobalt Blue pearl color. This will serve you well for the price range. This new addition to the St. Croix line up, in my opinion is a good bang for the buck on the high end blanks.

Hal,
You can also take a look at the Shikari SHII MB703. This blank is considerably cheaper and will work out great for light jigs. Shikari may also have a simililar blank in its higher modulous lines, but IMHo I dont think you need anything more than the SHII for jigs.

Hal,

Two other St Croix blanks that I have built a lot of pitching sticks on are the 3C 70 MF and the 3C 70 MHF. Both of these blanks retail for under $100. The 3C 70 MF wil give you a little bit more tip which has it's advantages when pitching.

HAL,

YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AT A ROGUE MB704 OR 705 THEY ARE VERY LIGHT AND SENSITIVE. MAYBE THE LIGHTEST BLANKS AN THE MARKET FOR THE MONEY. I REALLY LIKE THEM.
