I'm looking for a manufacturer that can produce (or already offers) fly rod blanks in some really funky colors, like FLAME ORANGE or WHITE. Why these crazy colors? For video taping casting students - these colors will show up much better in most cases against the common darker backdrop where they're taught (i.e. trees in the background).

Thoughts?

Paint your own. Just get some bright auto colors or floresent colors ( I use plasti-kote ) put about two DUST coats on, just enought to cover the blank, then clear or not

If you have access to a spray gun, Klass Kote (sponsor) epoxy paint is perfect for this task.

See if Plasit-Coat makes 'blaze orange'. That sucker will stick out then. Jay

I think there is a company "down under" that has different colored blanks. I can't think of the name of the company but I;m sure someone here will speakup and let you know.

I think Milt is talking about CTS, they normally only put the white color on their 1 piece blanks, but if you talk to them about what you need and why, maybe they will make a few for you. Great reports about this company from forum members.

i built a cts affinity plus its light with a very fast recovery

CTS have a big range of colours and styles. I have posted 3 of the colours I\ve built so far but there are some beauties I haven't got to yet. Access their site and have a look. If you don't see what you want on the site the email them and tell them what you are after. They were exceptionally helpful to me.
