Can these drill bits be used to get to a close starting point on cork handles? I'd like to know before I order the kit to make some.
Thanks, Scott Re: Flexcoat Pilot Bits and cork

I made some homemade ones, and I have done a couple of rings myself to find out if they worked on cork, I found using a drill press and speed set at a higher speed worked better that using a hand drill. And they are easy to make. Re: Flexcoat Pilot Bits and cork

Scott,That is exactly what I use them for.I have drilled out to 9/16ths however it was a little scairy feeling the bit below the surface.Key is to remove the bit often and clear out the bore. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Flexcoat Pilot Bits and cork

Scott, like Myles, I made my own and if you don't have a drill press, I've found that cutting cork with a hand drill worked best (cleaner edges) when I cut 1/2 way on one side, then finished up by turning over and cutting from the other side. Also, don't force the bit. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Flexcoat Pilot Bits and cork

I have a drill press and some hand drills, so I'll see what works best for me.
