reposting-sorry about dropping last name-habits die hard-so i get to tell everyone who read my last post AGAIN about the boneheaded thing i did-anyway, basic mistake-wrong bottle, coated a full rod with one part of a two part finish instead of a one part finish. any way to slavage finish without re-wrapping-it's a student's rod and his first wrap job-he coated it with what i handed him-next time will keep glasses handy.appreciate any ideas. i don't think you can salvage this. two part finishes require thorough mixing in the proper proportions. if you try to overcoat the existing guides the new layer may harden but you will have a goop underneath. i think you have to bite the bullet and strip the wraps and start over. Wipe the single part off. Use a gloved finger to wipe as much off as you can from each wrap. Then overcoat with a properly mixed two part epoxy of the same stuff. It will set up fine.

I almost did the same thing yesterday . I filled one syringe set bottle up on shelf then filled next syringe and I thought I had grabbed same bottle but wasn't sure so I added them together and started to mix , the mix didn't turn cloudy at start of mixing so I new they were from same bottle. Discarded and started over. Lucky part of my brain was still working.LOL.ED Re: minor AND major mistake
