spiral wrapped rod and reel ????

I have 2 patients in the medical field that I'm throwing the idea of building rods for one is a bilateral below elbow amputee the other is a paraplegic they of course cant use a baitcaster but a closed face aint out the question will this type off reel work on a spiral wrapped rod and how well ........ has anyone had this type of challenge befor

Yes, the spincast reels work great on a spiral wrapped rod. About the only challenges I've dealt with is partial impairment of hands and arthritis, so I can't help you there. Re: spiral wrapped rod and reel ????

The double amputee might benefit from an electric reel. I knew an avid fisherman who had a hemorrhagic stroke at a young age which left him with very limited mobility in his right arm. With an electric reel and help getting into the boat, he was fairly independent. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
