male end wrap

Thanks for all the help. Things are starting to become more clear.

Question: I can understand why you wrap the female end because it's hollow. Where do you place the wraps on the male end? Do you mark the male blank where it starts after inserting it into the female blank?

no wrap needed on the male end. just fill the male end with a little epoxy if there is nothing there

you would only wrap a male end if it was a spigot ferrul. tip over butt there is no need although some folks have put a small wrap there for an alignment dot.

If you do wrap the male end make sure to leave a bit, 1/4in. or so for the pieces to wear, just as a spiggot ferrule has. Ralph

If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.
