I read the article on Water Break Free Surface. Is it only referrng to the places where bonding agents will be used? Bruce Re: Water Break Free Surface

I use the technique before painting a blank (with Dupli-color or Plasti-Kote automotive touch up paints). I'm really not sure if this is a must do, but it does give me more confidence in the durability of the finish. Re: Water Break Free Surface

Bruce, a Water Breakfree Surface should be applied whether you are bonding such as gluing or epoxing seats and grips or as Steve has stated, whether you are applying coatings.
In other words, anytime you want something to bond to the surface of the blank, including the inside surface of reel seats. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Water Break Free Surface

Does that include the blank space under the guide and thread wraps? Re: Water Break Free Surface

No it is not necessary to have a breakfree surface under your guide wraps. You are not trying to adhere the guides/wraps to the blank, you are only applying epoxy to protect the wraps. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
